The Fourth International Symposium on Life-Cycle Civil Engineering (IALCCE 2014) was held in Tokyo, Japan, on November 16-19, 2014 (http://www.ialcce2014.org). The proceedings of IALCCE 2014 have been published by CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, as a set comprising a hardbound Book of extended abstracts and a DVD with 312 full papers, including the Fazlur R. Khan lecture, seven keynote lectures, and 304 technical contributions from 38 countries. The extended version of selected papers included in the proceedings have been published in a Special Issue of the international peer-reviewed journal Structure and Infrastructure Engineering, Taylor & Francis.
